Trade tests in Benoni: what to verify before booking

Check the exact trade, assessment-centre approval, eligibility and full costs before arranging a trade test.

AIET Editorial Team ·

Updated guide • Replaces an unavailable legacy article; this is newly written guidance, not a recovered report of past events.

A trade-test enquiry should start with the exact trade and your existing training and experience. Do not book on the strength of a general claim that a provider offers engineering. Approval for one trade does not establish approval for every trade.

Ask for the assessment reference

Request the centre’s current approval for your specific trade, its approved site and the relevant validity dates. AIET’s register separates training references from assessment-centre and trade-test-centre references so you can see what each supplied letter covers.

Confirm your eligibility

Ask the approved centre which route applies to your background and what evidence it requires. Have your training records and experience information ready for that discussion. This guide does not determine individual eligibility, promise acceptance or advertise a diesel-mechanic assessment outside AIET’s published scope.

Get a written booking breakdown

Confirm the date, location, assessment fee, any preparation costs and the cancellation terms. Ask what identification, equipment or protective clothing you must bring. Clarify how results are released and how to verify the document you receive.

For documents released through AIET’s controlled system, Get Results provides private access using your own credentials. Verification checks authenticity or current status; it does not open another learner’s private documents.
